Facility Requirements
A multinational logistics operator required significant cooling load reduction for a climate-sensitive storage facility in JAFZA. Internal ambient temperatures during peak summer months reached 38°C due to uninsulated corrugated and concrete roof zones.
Technical System Build-Up
IZOMATE engineered an inverted thermal envelope complying with Dubai Green Building Regulations (Al Sa’fat):
- Primary Barrier: Monolithic elastomeric waterproofing barrier over structural deck.
- Thermal Core: 50mm high-density Extruded Polystyrene (XPS) rigid boards (density 35–38 kg/m³, thermal conductivity λ = 0.028 W/m·K).
- Separation Layer: 140 g/m² non-woven polypropylene geotextile filtration fabric.
- Solar Reflection: High-albedo cool roof aliphatic topcoat delivering an initial Solar Reflectance Index (SRI) of 104.
Performance Outcome
Post-installation energy audits recorded an 18.4% reduction in HVAC kilowatt consumption, while maintaining internal ambient targets consistently below 24°C.
